Welcome to the RSPCA Bradford
Welcome to the Web site of the Bradford and District Branch of the RSPCA, serving the animals of Bradford since 1871. Registered charity number 232211.
Pet of the Month
Our Pet of the Month for May is Patch, a friendly, playful English Bull Terrier who will need an extra-patient foster family because of his deafness. Why not have a look - could you give him a home?
Spring Fair: £862.03 raised!
Our Spring Fair & Open Day on 21st April raised £862.03 for our animals. A big "thank you" to all our helpers and everyone who turned out to support us on the day!
News
Collecting at Tesco: Thank you!
Our collection effort at Tesco stores during RSPCA week raised £477.87 towards Branch funds. A big "thank you" to everybody who helped and everybody who contributed!
Bedding needed!
PLEA - We've run out of bedding for our animals - we desperately need blankets, sheets, old curtains, throws and large towels, please.
Having a spring clear-out?
If you're having a spring clear-out, please think of us! We have five charity shops eager for good-quality second-hand items to sell, plus a 'new to you' furniture outlet, opening soon. All our shops will be grateful for your unwanted items.
Microchipping alone is not enough
While the Westminster Government's announced measures aimed at tackling irresponsible dog ownership are a step in the right direction, the RSPCA is concerned that there is still much more that needs to be done to truly tackle the tidal wave of abused and abandoned dogs.

Cat Crisis
The number of homeless and abandoned cats in Bradford is at crisis point - and our Animal Home is full to overflowing! Please watch our video to see some of our cats, learn their stories and find out how you can help!
Amazon wishlist
We have started an Amazon wishlist that shows which type of animal food, toys etc. we are currently short of. Please use it to send practical gifts to our resident animals!
Has your cat gone missing?
We've started a new "found cats" page where we will be posting pictures of any cats found and handed in to the Branch. If your cat has gone missing in the Bradford area, check here now to see whether your pet has been handed in to us.
Help stop the cull!
A cull of badgers in England will begin imminently, unless we can convince the Government to stop the slaughter.
The RSPCA, League Against Cruel Sports, Humane Society International/UK, Save Me, and a host of local campaign groups have formed #TeamBadger.
For further information and details of how you can help, please visit the Stop the Cull web site.
Horse and Pony Crisis
From the national RSPCA: We are facing a £3.2 million bill to look after all our horses! £15 could help to pay for a month's worth of hay - www.rspca.org.uk/stablefuture
Or do you have any spare tack, rugs or other equine equipment for our rescue horses? Please help us - www.rspca.org.uk/tack
Kennel Refurbishment: We're half-way there!
A big thank-you to all our well-wishers who have supported the refurbishment of the Rudd Kennel, where our dogs live while waiting to be rehomed. Your generosity has brought us half-way to our target of £20,000.
But we still need more donations to reach the £20,000 mark that will let us make all the needed improvements.
If you are visiting the Branch, please contribute whatever you can spare to the collecting box at Reception. Alternatively, you can send cheques made out to RSPCA Bradford and District Branch to the Animal Home address. Please include a covering note stating that your donation is for the Rudd Kennel refurbishment.
Thank you for helping create a happy, healthy environment for our long- and short-term residents.
