Barry

Breed: Staffie

Sex: Male

Age: 5-6 years

Barry is one of our longest stay resident dogs, as he has been at the centre since September 2010. Barry is a really friendly dog with bags of personality and character. He loves attention and is always happy to see you and loves to please. Barry really enjoys going for his walks and likes to roll around in the grass. Barry travels well in the car and he can be quite obedient and will sit for food and treats when he is asked.

Barry can be a little boisterous and excitable but he soon calms down after a good run, some attention and play. Barry can be a little strong on the lead, but he does walk well on a harness. Barry likes to play with other dogs, but he can sometimes be a bit too excitable.

He may be better rehomed as the only dog where he can receive all the attention he likes. Barry will be suitable to live with an active family (older children of teen age upwards) who enjoy walking or a mature couple, or as a one to one companion. Barry is desperate for a new home and he really deserves one.

[Barry, December 2011]

Rocky

Breed: Cross

Sex: Male

Age: 7-8 years

Rocky is our second longest stay resident dog. He has been at the centre since May 2010. We cannot understand why Rocky has been with us so long, as he is such an adorable boy. He is very handsome, as you can see, and very charming. He is bouncy, but not boisterous. Rocky likes attention and loves a big fuss being made of him. He loves his walks, and gets very excited when our volunteer dog walkers come to visit.

We have no background on Rocky, sadly, as he was abandoned outside our centre, but he is extremely clean in his kennel so we believe him to be housetrained and he does respond to basic obedience commands and walks well on the lead. He gets on well with other dogs, but is not too keen on cats. Rocky will be suitable to live with a mature family or couple, or as a one to one companion. Rocky is a smashing dog and he truly deserves a loving home.
