Adoption Procedure

If you are interested in giving one of our animals a new home, please drop in to our Mount Street premises during office hours, where we can talk about the procedure and give you the leaflets and forms that you will need.

Anybody else who will be part of the pet's new household, such as your partner or children, should come along too.

You will need to bring with you some proof of identity that shows your address.

Once you have made contact with us, there are a number of steps to follow as shown below:

  1. Complete application form
  2. Show Proof of ID, which should include your name and address
  3. Pre adoption interview
  4. Discuss animals suitable for you/your family
  5. (Viewing will only commence when your application is authorised and household members needed are present)
  6. View suitable animals (You are advised that your husband/wife/partner and children living with you under 10 years of age should attend with you and in the case of dogs, all members of your household. This is so we can be sure that all parties agree to the adoption and that the animal approves of you all).
